Lava Yuva Star 3 Launched in India: Affordable 90Hz Phone with IP64 and Android 15 Go

Lava Yuva Star 3 is the new entry-level smartphone of the Indian company Lava, and it was released in early March 2026. Targeting entry-level smartphone users and low-end buyers, the device will include a balanced combination of critical features such as a large screen, a long battery life, and a small performance at a reasonable price.

Overview

Design and Build-Up

The Yuva Star 3 has a very classic but decent look given its price category. The chassis is flat-framed and the body has a waterdrop notch on the front side with a selfie camera. At the back, there is a plain camera module with the LED flash located next to it. The phone also has an IP64 rating, making it resistant to dust and light sprays, a feature that is not common and not very beneficial in its category. Fingerprint scanner mounted on the side is an added convenience and security.

Display

The Lava Yuva Star 3 boasts an HD+ 6.75-inch screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, making scrolling smoother and basic animations in the user interface significantly more sophisticated than the 60 Hz screens on most low-end phones. The resolution of the device is 720×1600 pixels and it is adequate to perform daily web browsing, video viewing and basic gaming.

Processor

The phone is powered by Unisoc SC9863A octa core under the hood. Although not intended as a high-performance computing or high-end gaming chipset, this chipset can perform the daily tasks of calling, messaging, social media, and light apps well, especially with Android 15 Go Edition, which is tailored to entry-level computer hardware.

Battery

The 5,000 mAh battery is one of the strongest features of the Lava Yuva Star 3. This battery will make sure that they have a long day of use when it comes to normal activities such as browsing, streaming and messaging. The 10W charging with USB Type-C support implies that you can recharge it quickly when there is a need, but the charging rates are not that high.

Camera

The 13 MP rear camera in Yuva Star 3 has an LED flash that supports the provision of basic photography and video capturing. The 5 MP selfie camera is positioned on the front side in the waterdrop notch, which is convenient in taking casual selfies and on video calls. Although the camera performance will not compete with the more expensive phones, it will serve well in the daily imaging requirements. ([Gadgets 360][2])
