The Huawei Mate 80 marks the latest flagship smartphone from Huawei’s Mate series, unveiled in China in November 2025. The designers made it to achieve the best performance, high camera features, and high-quality construction.
Although the phone has not yet entered Nepal officially, tech-lovers are keeping a close eye on the possible entry of the phone in Nepal.
Overview

Design and Build
The Mate 80 has a flat and 6.75 inch design and its frame is made of aluminum and the entire body is covered with strong glass. It is waterproof and will withstand dust (IP68 / IP69), and has a slim profile (7.95 mm thick). The quality of the build is high-end, and at the same time, it is not too big to hold in your hands, though the screen is large.
Display
Its display features a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED with an adaptive refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz, aiding both smoothness and power efficiency. It has a resolution of FHD+ (~1280 x 2832), and it can be used with 10-bit color and the entire gamut of DCI-P3 to give rich and precise colors.

Processor
The Mate 80 has a Kirin 9020 chipset that works under the hood. This, and as much as 16 GB of RAM (depending on version) give it just enough muscle to support multitasking, high-performance applications, and work-intensive workloads.
Battery
The Mate 80 has been fitted with a 5,750 mAh battery by Huawei. The phone also offers 66 W wired fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging for other devices, which makes it quite flexible.
Camera
The back-facing camera has three lenses:
- 50 MP main (wide) sensor variable aperture and OIS.
- 40 MP ultra-wide
- 12 MP periscope telephoto (optical zoom and OIS)
There is a 13 MP selfie camera on the front. The imaging system is based on the processing of Huawei Maple Leaf / XMAGE-style, focusing on the increase of details, color and low-light capabilities.

Even though competition in the Chinese launching price is a flagship, the reality price might increase much more in Nepal in relation to the importation aspects. The Mate 80 may be such an attractive alternative to the users in Nepal, particularly when Huawei is providing officially imported or gray imports that are well-warranted.
