Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 Now Available in Nepal: Budget Tablet with Smooth 90Hz Display

Galaxy Tab A11 is the latest product by Samsung in the budget tablets. It has a small screen size, a 90 Hz refresh rate display, and the software refinement of Samsung, which is targeting users who desire to consume a reliable daily tablet to stream, read, browse or do minimal productively, without paying prices like a high-end mobile phone.

Overview

Design and Build-Up

The Tab A11 has a minimalistic design with small bezels on its 8.7-inch screen with dimensions of approximately 211 x 124.7 x 8 mm and a weight unit of about 335-337 g. The construction is made of a back and frame made of plastic, which makes it light and cheap, and the tablet is not uncomfortable to hold in long periods. It has simple color options like Gray and Silver and has a custom smooth appearance fitting the home or travel utility.

Design

Display

A touchscreen device is the central part of the tablet, and it has an 8.7-inch TFT LCD (TFT type) touchscreen. The touchscreen has a resolution of 1,340 x 800 pixels with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Scrolling and interface transitions are also smoother on a higher refresh rate than they are on a standard display at 60 Hz and the experience becomes more responsive. The resolution is slightly low compared to the size, but it should be fine for general media and browsing applications.

Processor and Performance

The device includes MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, an ESP based on 6 nm, which powers the Galaxy Tab A11 under the hood. The tablet comes with 4 GB or 8 GB RAM with 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage, and supports microSD drives up to 2 TB. The hardware is rather efficient to perform daily chores (video streaming, web browsing, document reading, and light multitasking) and does not imply high-end gaming or work-intensive processes.

Battery

The battery capacity in Tab A11 is approximated at 5,100 mAh which is not very high yet enough to support light-moderate usage of the tablet in a day. The wired charging voltage is approximately 15 W, meaning that complete charges will require more time than on more powerful tablets, and extensive usage will more likely require evening top-ups.

Camera

The camera is simple yet applicable to a low-end tablet. At the back is an 8 MP sensor together with an autofocus that is good enough in taking snapshots and scanning documents. Its front has a 5 MP camera which is good enough when making video calls and attending online meetings. Although it does not aim at competing with the high-end photography tablets, it meets the mainstream needs reasonably well.

It compromises on the resolution, battery size and charging speed, but its 90 Hz refresh rate, reasonable construction and general daily usage are what make it a viable option in the low end tablet category. The Tab A11 should be highly considered in case you are interested in a tablet that has a general usage (streaming, browsing, reading, light work).
