Apple Watch Series 11 vs Series 10: Is an upgrade worth it?

Once again Apple has added to its range of smart watches with the Apple Watch Series 11, but with minor yet significant improvements over the Series 10. If you are considering buying a new Apple Watch or deciding whether to upgrade, it is essential to understand the differences in design, performance, and features. Here’s a detailed comparison to help you make an informed choice.

Apple Watch Series 11 vs Series 10 Overview

Design & Display

The Series 10 and Series 11 are both designed to look similar, having smooth aluminum and titanium cases with always-on Retina LTPO OLED screens. Serie 11 however comes with an Ion-X glass with ceramic which is twice stronger than the Series 10. Series 11 have slightly larger displays with 42mm and 46mm slightly brighter screens with better readability in the sunlight. The two watches have the ability to retain up to 50 meters water and dust resistance (IP6X), which is strong enough to carry out daily and outdoor activities.

Performance & Battery Life

The Series 11 is powered by an S10 SiP chip under the hood which is faster with better power efficiency than the S9 SiP of the Series 10. This makes the Series 11 achieve a maximum of 24 hours of battery life under normal circumstance (and 38 hours on Low Power Mode) and the Series 10 18 hours on normal usage and 36 hours on Low Power Mode. The models both employ quick charging.

Health & Fitness Features

Both watches are good options as the Series 10 already has ECG, Blood Oxygen, Sleep Tracking and Sleep Apnea Detection capabilities.
